It really is winter now. The low temperature last night was -8F. It got up to -1.5F by the time we took our walk, but with the wind chill it was about -20F. Brrrr! Continue reading

Summer is ending with some very dry weather – we haven’t had any rain in weeks. The prairies survive when it doesn’t rain, but they’re beginning to look a little wilted. But the flowers are still blooming, and the birds and insects are working on their preparations for winter. Continue reading

It’s hot – our thermometer reads 93.6 degrees right now. I’ve been pulling out Wild Parsnip early every morning – by about 10:00 I’m dripping wet, and it’s too hot to do any more. But there are lots of moths, and it’s nice to be outside at night, so I’m staying up late to watch them.
