The end of the year brought very wintry weather to most of the country, including us. For the first half of the month we had just a little snow, so we could still walk up the hills.

September is our transition from summer to fall, bringing cooler temperatures, shorter days, and the sun lower in the sky. This week we had our first frosty nights. Continue reading
August was sunny and warm, with just enough rain to keep the prairies green. Then, in this last week, we had more than 5 inches of rain. It raised the level of the beaver lake, but fortunately didn’t cause any flooding.
July has been a busy month – lots of projects, lots of flowers, lots of interesting bugs.

This has been a spring of either cold or hot weather with not much in between, and mostly windy days.
The spring weather has continued to be cold and windy and rainy. Just in the last few days the air has felt a little warmer, and plants are looking greener. We’re hopeful that spring may be coming at last.
