Buffalo Ridge Prairie was spectacular this year – it was one of my favorite places to walk.

Late May and early June with Indian Paintbrush (Castilleja coccinea)

Early July – Monarda, Oxeye (Heliopsis helianthoides), and Giant St. John’s Wort (Hypericum pyramidatum)

Late July and August – Monarda (Monarda fistulosa), Yellow Coneflower(Ratibida pinnata), Hoary Vervain (Verbena stricta), and Mountain Mint (Pycnanthemum virginianum).
