This is the year after we got rid of the pines below the prairie. Now we can look down through the woods and see the valley below.
11/12/2002 This shows the line of trees – big old Burr and White Oaks, brush, elms, birches and aspens – growing between the remnant and Western Prairie. There’s also a group of birches and aspens that grows down into the remnant itself. I think the cows must have liked grazing there, because the dominant plant under those trees is Smooth Brome.
