Amelanchier humilis/spicata – Serviceberry

According to Welby Smith’s Trees and Shrubs of Minnesota, these two species are difficult to separate and may require more genetic work to determine their relationships.  Reading his key, my one shrub has some characteristics of A. alnifolia, A. humilis and A. spicata, but A. alnifolia is a western species, probably not found east of western Minnesota.
