Leucorrhinia intacta – Dot-tailed Whiteface

Found near vegetated ponds, lakes, sluggish backwaters and bogs.  (Bugguide)  Common in farm ponds. (Wisconsin Odonata Survey)

Adult males are mostly black with a white face, black legs, and one yellow spot on the 7th segment of the abdomen.  Females and young males have yellow markings on the abdomen, and the same prominent square spot on the 7th segment.  (Wisconsin Odonata Survey)
