This year we did our usual spring mowing, and in August I pulled Queen Anne’s Lace. I also did a little work cutting and treating returning brush in the main part of the savanna along the path. We had so little snow late in the fall that I worked a bit clearing the western edge of Ragwort Opening – cutting and treating honeysuckle, buckthorn, and prickly ash to expand the opening down the slope to the west.
I scattered seeds of savanna plants: Elm-leaved Goldenrod, Zig Zag Goldenrod, Big Leaved Aster, Downy Phlox.

7/5/2023 Several of the biggest branches broke off one of the largest of the twisted Bur Oaks.
7/22/2023 This is the cleared area on the west facing slope across from the bench. I can never decide if this belongs to Twisted Oak Savanna or to Indian Grass Point – so sometimes I put photos of it on both pages.
