Caterpillar foods: unknown – a species of old fields in the midwest (Bugguide)
This species is very similar to Olethreutes astrologana and Olethreutes coruscana and can’t be separated for certain without dissection. But Olethreutes ferrolineana tends to have more gold on the forewing, a less mottled look, and larger areas of pure gold. (Bugguide)
