Pseudexentera spoliana – Bare-patched Oak Leafroller

Family Tortricidae  Hodges #s 3246/3251

Caterpillar foods:  Oak, chestnut, maple and buckeye  (Bugguide)

This species looks very similar to Pseudexentera cressoniana.  (Bugguide)  The host plant for P. cressoniana is Shagbark Hickory (and possibly Bitternut Hickory),  and it lacks the orange-brown scales on the wings.   P. spoliana is the most common Pseudexentera where there are oaks.  (Kyle Johnson)
