Caterpillar foods:  birch (Beadle & Leckie)

Hydrelia inornata and H. lucata seem to be very similar.  I haven’t found any references that show definite differences between the two.  Hugh McGuinness agrees that they’re difficult to tell apart, and may in fact be the same species.

Les Ferge lists only H. lucata in Wisconsin, so that’s what I’ll call the ones I see.
