Caterpillar foods: have been reared on Triosteum perfoliatum and Triosteum aurantiacum (Bugguide)
This species was recently described by MJ Hatfield and two others. The adults can’t be distinguished from Sympistis chionanthi, but the larva are quite different looking and have different host plants.
8/12/2015 This is one of the adults from several larvae that I collected from Triosteum perfoliatum in some of our savanna remnants.
Here are images from the rearing project. There were several larvae, so not all of these are of the same individual.
