A new butterfly for the farm – August 17, 2004
I saw an American Snout for the first time at the farm, and for only the second time ever. It was on the driveway and flew away very quickly and erratically so I didn’t get a photograph. It’s such an odd looking butterfly!

Cecropia moths – August 5, 2004
The caterpillars are getting bigger, and eating more.
The largest ones are now about 2 inches long. I have 8 left of the original 10 – I don’t know what happened to the two that are missing – but these 8 are eating and seem healthy. Continue reading
