Caterpillar food: Polygonum sp. – knotweeds and smartweeds (Bugguide)
These are very common at my lights. They’re quite varied in color. According to Bugguide the males are grayer, and the females have more even dark bands that reach all the way from the outer edge of the upper wing, to the inner edge.
