Conium maculatum – Poison Hemlock

Poison Hemlock is extremely poisonous – it was the plant poison used to kill Socrates. It’s a biennial, originally from Europe and North Africa. Here in the U.S. it’s an invasive weed.

I found it once on the northern edge of our property. After identifying it, I sprayed it thoroughly, and haven’t seen any since. I hope I’ve eradicated it.
