Family Apocynaceae

We have this species of dogbane growing in just a few spots – all sunny restored savannas. Indian Hemp (Apocynum cannabinum) is the more common dogbane here.

6/11/2021 In 2021 the Spreading Dogbane grew in a thick stand on top of Indian Grass Point.  While it was blooming the flowers attracted dozens of butterflies – mostly Great Spangled Fritillaries and Silvery Checkerspots.
