Family Noctuidae Hodges # 9247
Very similar to Acronicta increta, but Acronicta tristis is dark gray, without any tinge of green or yellow. Basal area is darker than the rest. A. increta usually has a tinge of green, or is paler gray. (Moths of North Carolina)
