Sumac Prairie – 2024

[To see photos and stories of this prairie in other years, go to the links on the main Sumac Prairie page.]

This year the only work I did on Sumac Prairie was on the few days in early September when I climbed up to look for Northern Flower Moths.  I cut and treated with herbicide some of the brush invading the edges of the southwest corner of the main prairie.

9/9/2024  This was a good year for Great Plains Ladies Tresses – I saw several on Sumac Prairie, and quite a few on our other bluff remnants.
