This year the only work I did on Sumac Prairie was on the few days in early September when I climbed up to look for Northern Flower Moths. I cut and treated with herbicide some of the brush invading the edges of the southwest corner of the main prairie.

9/6/2024 Savanna area below the prairie. Erik from Kule Region Forestry mowed up here with a forestry mower in October of 2022. He mowed mostly small Wild Cherries, Prickly Ash, Honeysuckle and Buckthorn.
9/9/2024 This was a good year for Great Plains Ladies Tresses – I saw several on Sumac Prairie, and quite a few on our other bluff remnants.
9/9/2024 This is the southwest corner of the main prairie where I did some cutting and treating of brush.
