Sheep Hill Bluff Prairie – 2022

[To see photos and stories of this prairie in other years, go to the links on the main Sheep Hill Bluff Prairie page.]

Starting in January, I planted this field with prairie seeds – frost seeding on top of the snow.

Mike mowed it twice – in early July and in early September.   I found quite a few native plants blooming.  Some are species that will bloom even in their first year, but others I think must have already been growing here.
