Bird’s Eye Prairie

A few weeks ago Mike and I went with some friends to see some nearby land that belongs to their family.  Part of the land is farmland – with an old farm house, fields, and woods.  But on the ridge above the house, there’s a beautiful bluff prairie.

Mike took all these photos – I hadn’t brought my camera.

This is the field below the prairie.  The yellow flowers are turnips – hunters had planted them in a food plot for deer.

The prairie itself is very steep.  It was difficult walking.
