I found this caterpillar in a leaf shelter on Giant St. John’s Wort (Hypericum pyramidatum).

5/26/2020 making a cocoon between the side of the glass jar and a paper towel
6/5/2020 I noticed that the pupa had moved up the side of the jar, out of its cocoon.

6/5/2020 I looked away for a minute or two, and when I looked back, the pupa had moved up to the top of the paper towel, and the adult had emerged.
