7/28/2019  This is the new prairie we planted in the winter of 2017/2018.  The lower part – nearer the driveway – is older – planted in 2002.  The upper, newer part (on the left in the photo) still has lots of Black-eyed Susans, Queen Anne’s Lace, and (native) Field Thistle.

7/28/2019  More of the new prairie – showing the many Field Thistles and Black-eyed Susan.   But also Monarda and Yellow Coneflower coming up.  I cut and treated many invasive thistles here this year – Bull Thistle (Cirsium vulgare), and (I think) Plumeless Thistle (Carduus acanthoides).
