Photedes enervata – Many-lined Cordgrass Moth

Family Noctuidae   Hodges # 9443

Caterpillar foods: Prairie Cordgrass (Illinois Wildflowers)

This moth has been tentatively identified as Photedes enervata by Jim Vargo and Steve Nanz.  It’s possible that it could be P. defecta – dissection, or at least spreading so that the wings shape is more apparent, would be needed to confirm the ID.
