Knife Edge Prairie 2004

[To see photos and stories of this prairie in other years, go to the links on the main Knife Edge Prairie page.]

This year the flowers in the mowed area really started coming back.  (I haven’t planted any seeds in this remnant, so all the plants that come up are ones that were here originally.)

Two other really nice flowers that I discovered here

Whorled Milkwort – a tiny, obscure plant, only a few inches high

And Low Bindweed – a white morning glory that grows on a short stalk – not a twining vine

8/2/2004   This is the path toward the point, with its one big patch of Butterfly Weed.

8/24/2004    Rough Blazing Star is starting to bloom.  More of it blooms every year.
