We didn’t do anything with Volvo Meadow for years, except mow a few paths through it.  The brush and trees along the edges grew higher, and the thickets got larger.  Most of the trees are Box Elders.  The shrubs are Gray Dogwood, Tartarian Honeysuckle, Prickly Ash and a little Elderberry.  The low plants were ‘old field’ vegetation – mostly Smooth Brome and Canada Goldenrod.

3/12/2007  Most years there was a meltwater stream that ran down the middle into the valley when the snow was melting.
