Caterpillar foods:  leaves of sedges  (Bugguide)

Alternate genus name is Satyrodes.  According to A Catalog of the Butterflies of the United States and Canada,   Lethe includes both Satyrodes (Eyed and Appalachian Browns), and Enodia (Pearly-eyes).

I’ve only seen this species on our land once.
