Caterpillar foods: first and second instar feed on flowers, later instars feed on leaves of Toadflax (Linaria) (Bugguide)
Native to Europe, western Asia and north Africa. Released to control toadflax, first in Ontario in 1962, then in Montana in 1968, then many subsequent releases. Defoliates some Yellow Toadflax, but doesn’t reduce plant density. (Bugguide)
