6/4/2006 The beaver pond at Willow Bend
6/19/2006 Mike mowed Parsnip Meadow – to try to reduce the number of Wild Parsnip plants.
6/24/2006 Looking from the driveway west to the mowed Parsnip Meadow. I’m weeding Parsnip out of the unmowed area by hand.

7/16/2006 I found Bog Goldenrod growing farther east, in a part of the wetland I hadn’t explored much before.

7/22/2006 Pulling out a beaver dam – we were afraid that the pond would undermine the driveway.
7/28/2006 This is an area just east of the old driveway that I’ve been trying to restore. We mowed and planted it last year, but all that came up was a thicket of Wild Parsnip.
8/7/2006 Boneset and Joe Pye Weed east of the driveway
8/13/2006 Beaver pond at Willow Bend – a good spot to look for dragonflies
8/18/2006 Unmowed area west of the driveway. This was planted with wetland seeds a few years ago.
8/18/2006 More of the unmowed, planted area
9/3/2006 Unmowed, planted area west of the driveway
9/2/2006 The field east of the old driveway – mowed, ready to be sprayed and burned this fall
9/15/2006 The field just east of the old driveway – after being sprayed with glyphosate.
9/15/2006 Here I am, working on the burn. We didn’t have much success – the thatch was very wet and hardly burned at all.
9/15/2006 This is a triangle of land between the old and the new driveways. The loggers who worked on Pine Point used it to pile and then load their logs onto trucks. When they got finished it was a mess. I haven’t done anything here – just let it grow back. So far it’s mostly Sneezeweed and Panicled Aster.
10/6/2006 Mike mowed Parsnip Meadow a second time to prevent the Parsnip from making a second batch of seeds.
11/17/2006 Beavers have been working on some of the trees along the creek.
