6/5/2005  Mike mowed a path so we could walk along the top of the field, right along the edge of the woods.  It turned out to be difficult to walk there – very tilty, so we never mowed that path again.

7/18/2005  This is the first year we didn’t mow at all, except the paths.

8/24/2005  The dominant grass right now is Indian Grass.  The prairie forbs are still there, but some of the most troublesome plants, like Canada Goldenrod, are shorter and less vigorous.
