This species has been reworked – it’s now considered to include 4 separate species. A. coronata is found only in Europe. The other 3 species are found in the U.S. From what I know so far, they can be tentatively separated by size and range:
Anania tertialis – forewing length 10 mm; range eastern and western nearctic
Anania plectilis – forewing length 11.5 mm; range eastern nearctic
Anania tennesseensis – forewing length 9mm; range Tennessee
