Journal for June 2000

6/6/00
There were lots of butterflies (a sunny 75 degree day), especially on the large stones in the driveway, and at puddles on the driveway.

Last night was our first overnight in the cabin; a nice place to wake up!  It’s still a hunter’s cabin but the birds in the morning are great, and the view is beautiful.  I heard “drink your tea…” and lots of Phoebes and a Yellow Throat.  There are lots of frogs singing in the evening in the pond.

(Most of the next year of journal notes is lists of new birds and animals that we saw.  Fun for me, but boring for most people.  So I’m saving the original notes, and just retyping and expanding on the interesting stuff.)
