As we drove up to the house an opossum was waddling along the driveway. It looked back over its shoulder at us, then speeded up and dove under the porch. Later I saw it under the birdfeeders, and then it wandered down the driveway and into the culvert under the Y.
With warmer weather the snow has packed down and isn’t nearly as deep in the fields. I did another 8 sections of seeding, and I’m finished with the big field except for one large section – it’s a good thing, because it’s supposed to stay warm, and there may be no snow on the ground by next week. The snow is very wet – by the end of a seeding session my feet are soaked – it makes me feel colder than when it’s 20 degrees.

The western field – we don’t have a name for it yet – in the snow.

Perry delivered the flooring for the upstairs, and we got about ¼ of it put in. It takes longer than we had hoped – it always does – but it looks beautiful. The only worry is whether we can match up the center area with the closets and around the hole for the stairway. It’s so nice to have pre-finished flooring – once it’s nailed in it’s done.

There are lots of tiny bird footprints in the woods – I think they must be from Juncos or American Tree Sparrows.
