While hunting for seeds, I found a cool new plant – not at the farm – along the roadside in Pierce County.
It’s Euphorbia hexagona – Six-angled Spurge.
And here’s a closeup of the flowers and seeds
It turned out that this plant has never been found in Wisconsin before. I sent a specimen and some photos to Emmet Judziewicz, at the herbarium at Stevens Point. It’s now in the herbarium, and there’s a story about it on their web site. A very neat adventure!
