We were in Paris for two weeks at the end of June. We had a wonderful time – walking and looking at people and scenery.
My photos and stories are mostly about the plants and animals we saw, and the parks where we saw them. Paris isn’t the best place to look for wildlife, but there is some if you look closely. I also enjoyed looking at the parks and other public spaces.
I have so many photos that I’m going to break up the stories into a few parts.
Outside the City – Fountainbleau and Versailles – both are beautiful palaces with lovely gardens. And Bois de Vincinnes – a huge park right on the edge of the city. It’s just beyond the ring road that marks the outside edge of Paris. Part of the park is a bird sanctuary – the most “natural” area we saw on our trip.
Geneva, Switzerland – Mike really wanted to try out some of the fast European trains, so one day we took one to Geneva, walked around for a few hours, and rode back.
